Course title: Introduction to photography.            Course length: Approx 2-3 hours.           
Course Aims: To provide you with an understanding of camera settings, composition and lighting. After the course, I will email you the PDF’s of: ‘The basics’, ‘Composition’ & 'Lighting course notes'.  
Who is it aimed at?: This course is aimed at either beginners or someone who has been shooting for sometime but lacks the confidence/knowhow to move away from using the ‘Auto’ setting on their camera. 
Objectives: 

The basics:

How to avoid camera shake by correct handling and correct use of settings in your camera.

Camera settings and how they interact with each other. We will look at: ISO, Aperture (how this effects depth of field) and Shutter speed settings.

Creative use of Aperture/Shutter speed settings.

Composition:

What rules/guidelines are there in photography? How do we use them? We will look at some images together and also put this into practice. Rule of thirds will be discussed.

Review some of your own images and critique them.

Lighting:

How can you use natural light to your advantage? Using ‘reflectors’ in photography.

Finally, we will look at how to read the ‘Histogram’ on your LCD screen.

 

 

 

The course will start with at a venue of your choice, normally your home to run through all of the above. We would then move to a venue close to your home to put that into practice. Course is on a ‘one to one’ basis.
